The Association of Marine Sciences will meet once a month from April 2020 on for an open lecture and discussion evening. This "NWV Ocean Chat" shall be a platform for professional scientists and interested people of all ages and career levels. At each NWV Ocean Chat a scientist will be invited to report about her/his current research in a generally understandable way and to discuss it afterwards with all participants. Afterwards the discussion will be opened to all kinds of topics. Here also hints for marine science events of all kinds will be collected. After this more official part of the evening, smaller groups can continue to chat over a drink until the end of the evening.

In all discussions and conversations, the NWV Ocean Chat aims to bring interested people together to network. Thus, these evenings are also meant to serve as a linking and planning platform for further activities within the Association of Marine Sciences.

The "NWV Ocean Chat" takes place on the first Tuesday of each month from 7 pm on in the bar "Charlotte Gainsbourgh" in the Neustadt of Bremen, Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 33. Drinks can be purchased in the bar.

Announcements of dates and topics will be made here via the Association of Marine Sciences page of the NWV homepage, the NWV Facebook page and a mailing list.

All NWV members are welcome to visit the "NWV Ocean Chat" regularly or irregularly, to inspire other people and to suggest topics to the head of the society
